Blue Cedar Projects

Client Overview
Blue Cedar is a comprehensive outdoor services provider specialising in tree surgery, fencing, gates, and garden landscaping. When we first partnered with Blue Cedar, the task was to merge two established businesses into a single, unified brand that reflected the full scope of their expertise.
With no prior digital presence, this was an opportunity to build a brand identity entirely from the ground up, encompassing everything from the name and positioning to digital performance and market recognition.
We began developing a distinctive visual identity and launching a new website designed to showcase the craftsmanship and professionalism at the heart of Blue Cedar’s work. The site combined strong aesthetics with clear functionality, providing an easy-to-navigate user experience, structured service information and direct pathways for enquiries.
Once the brand was in place, the focus shifted to visibility. We needed to introduce Blue Cedar to the market, establish credibility, and generate leads, all without the advantage of an existing audience or search history.
Our challenge was clear: how do you make an entirely new name known, trusted, and competitive in a crowded sector?
The Challenge
Starting with zero brand awareness meant that every touchpoint mattered. We weren’t simply optimising campaigns, we were building visibility, trust and credibility from scratch.
The objective was threefold: to build brand recognition for multiple service areas within a highly competitive local market, and to generate a steady flow of qualified leads. With no organic foundations to rely on, a paid strategy across Google and social media was essential to accelerate growth and create immediate visibility. While also building authority for garden landscaping through localised SEO content.
This strategy wasn’t just about marketing a service. It was about introducing a brand that didn’t yet exist in the eyes of its audience and making it a recognised, respected name in the outdoor services sector.

Our Approach
Launching a brand with no prior digital footprint meant more than simply running ads; it required building credibility and visibility from the ground up. With Blue Cedar, our objective wasn’t just to generate clicks, but to introduce an entirely new brand to the market in a way that immediately communicated professionalism, reliability, and expertise.
We recognised that in a highly competitive sector such as outdoor services, users tend to search with strong intent, often seeking immediate solutions for specific fencing needs. However, for garden landscaping services, people tend to research, explore ideas and look around providers before making a decision. To meet these differing needs, we developed a multi-layered Google Ads strategy that targeted potential customers at every stage of their journey, from awareness to conversion.
Each of Blue Cedar’s core services, Tree Surgery, Fencing, and Garden Landscaping, was treated as a standalone campaign, complete with bespoke ad groups, tailored keyword sets, and service-specific landing pages.
This structure allowed us to create hyper-relevant messaging that spoke directly to user intent. For instance, searchers looking for “emergency tree removal” received a message emphasising safety, speed, and accreditation, while those exploring “garden design and landscaping” were presented with creative imagery and language that focused on transformation and craftsmanship.
For a business starting from zero presence, this strategic use of Google Ads was transformative. It provided instant visibility in search results where organic performance would have taken months to build. More importantly, it positioned Blue Cedar as a credible, professional choice within days of launch, giving potential customers the confidence to engage with a brand they had never encountered before.
The result was a paid search strategy that didn’t just drive clicks, it built awareness, trust, and tangible business growth. For a brand starting with zero visibility, Google Ads became the cornerstone of rapid recognition and lead generation.

While search captured users with active intent, social media played a vital role in building awareness and credibility among audiences who weren’t yet searching for Blue Cedar, but would soon need their services.
We developed and implemented a comprehensive Meta Ads strategy, designed to position Blue Cedar as a trusted name across Facebook and Instagram. The campaign rolled out in carefully managed phases, mirroring the natural progression of brand development:
- Phase One – Brand Introduction: Establishing visibility. We focused on storytelling: who Blue Cedar are, what they do, and why they care about quality. The aim was to make the name familiar by using short, visually strong video clips and carousels that showcase the team at work, before-and-after transformations, and client testimonials.
- Phase Two – Consideration and Engagement: Once awareness was established, we introduced service-specific ads that highlighted expertise in fencing, tree surgery, and landscaping. These ads targeted users who had already engaged with earlier awareness content, nurturing them towards enquiry.
- Phase Three – Lead Generation: We then transitioned into direct-response campaigns, using form-based ads and strong calls to action to capture high-quality leads. These were optimised to encourage immediate engagement, driving measurable enquiries and bookings.
Our creative direction emphasised authenticity and craftsmanship. We avoided overly polished, generic imagery in favour of real projects and people, the Blue Cedar team at work, the detail of well-constructed fencing, or the transformation of a landscaped garden. This genuine presentation helped to build trust quickly, showing potential customers the expertise behind the brand.
We continuously tested formats, from video and carousel ads to static imagery, assessing which drove the best engagement. Data from Meta’s performance insights allowed us to adjust creative and copy in real-time, ensuring Blue Cedar’s campaigns remained relevant and effective.

While paid search delivered immediate visibility, long-term growth depended on developing a strong organic presence, particularly for Blue Cedar’s Garden Landscaping service. Competing locally required more than general optimisation; it demanded a strategy rooted in relevance, locality and credibility.
A central part of the strategy involved creating a series of hidden service area pages. Each page was tailored to a specific location within Blue Cedar’s catchment area. These pages were not visible in the main navigation, keeping the customer journey clean and uncluttered, but they remained fully indexed by search engines. By including locally relevant details such as property styles, soil types and common landscaping needs, each page signalled authenticity and local expertise to both users and search algorithms. This approach allowed Blue Cedar to appear in dozens of micro-local searches, significantly expanding their organic reach without compromising the clarity of the main website.
In parallel, we focused on building authority through content. Garden landscaping is a visually led service, so we created detailed case studies that demonstrated Blue Cedar’s craftsmanship and creativity. Each case study documented a real project from start to finish, including the client brief, design process, materials and outcome. The addition of high-quality photography, structured metadata and internal linking ensured each piece contributed to both search visibility and brand credibility.
This combination helped Blue Cedar compete organically with long-established landscaping firms, steadily increasing their online visibility and generating consistent, qualified traffic. Over time, the brand established a strong and sustainable presence across local search results, ensuring that when homeowners look for landscaping expertise in their area, Blue Cedar is both visible and trusted.
