How much does a website cost?

We know you’ve probably Googled “How much does a website cost?” You ended up with a range of answers, and now you’re here hoping to find a direct answer. At the same time, we can give you our day rate, which is £680(+VAT) by the way, but ultimately, we can’t give you a blanket price for a website; it is dependent on the time that is taken to create it and the time comes down to what you are asking for and how you communicate with us.

So, if you are looking for a website that fulfils your needs and desires while also being an investment for your business, then speak to Geek.

The Process

1.

Meeting No.1

First Impressions

Woah woah, let’s not go straight to third base when you haven’t introduced yourself. The first meeting is all about you. You will meet two of us from the marketing team, and we will spend our time getting to know your business and what the business needs from Geek. Depending on where your company is on the digital journey, we will help you establish ideal goals and intentions for implementing an injection of digital.

2.

Meeting No.2

The Discovery

Alright, so we’ve gotten acquainted with each other, and you’re starting to feel more at home with the Geek. Up next, we have a more intense, deep-dive meeting to fully grasp your expectations from our pool of digital expertise. Say you’re after a website makeover; we won’t hesitate to sit down and comb through each page with you, pinpointing your specific needs. However, as much as we value and encourage your input, we kindly ask for your ear, too. We’re here to make sure aesthetics and utility strike a perfect balance, after all.

3.

Design

This stage involves much communication as you will collaborate with our in-house designer on how you want the design of your website to look. While we understand design can be emotional, as we all want to connote the right things, it is essential to listen to our designer’s opinions and ideas as they will be solely working from the viewpoint of what is best for your business and customers. Once you have signed off on the design of your website, we will then move on to the development of the website.

4.

Development

Don’t worry, but at this stage, we tend to go a bit quiet with our communication because we are now building your website, which involves concentrated time and dedication. No matter what you have asked for, we can achieve it; whether we have to research and find the ideal plugin or create something from scratch, it will genuinely be bespoke to your business.

5.

Aftercare

Aftercare comes in many different ways, and depending on what your intentions are for Geek, long-term or just a short time thing, we will arm you with information so you can feel confident going forward.

The Geek Library

If you’ve gone down the route of having a website crafted by Geek, you will have access to The Geek Library; take your time with this – it’s two books. One is an SEO Manual, so you can implement organic marketing onto your company site yourself, or even if it isn’t something you choose to do yourself, the book will empower you with relevant knowledge to best optimise your site. The second book is our WordPress Manual, so you can learn how to make edits and changes to your site and content through the backend of your site.

Research

A crucial part of Geek’s work is using insight as a decision-maker, so if your business or in-house marketing is at a loss for what are ideal strategic moves to make to get your company seen, then our marketing team will put together a research project, to ensure your company makes smart, intentional pushes.

Consultancy

Aftercare can look like many different things: training and consulting, Search Engine Ads or eCommerce SEO.

Consultancy can go hand in hand with the research service we offer but is equally a stand-alone service; once again, this occurs if your marketing team know what they need to do but also doesn’t know – the goals are there, but the path to said goals is unclear, or perhaps there are too many paths, Geek is the tour guide we will point out all the sights and tourist attractions – just because other people are going to that tour attraction doesn’t mean you need to – and as your tour guide we ensure you only see what is worth seeing.

Now will be the time to consider how potential consumers see your website through marketing and organic content, such as content writing. During the aftercare process, you will mainly be communicating with the marketing team, whether that is through emails or face-to-face meetings. The product you purchase from our marketing team is their knowledge and expertise.

    The Architecture of a Website

The confusion of pricing mainly comes down to what you are actually paying for; while you are purchasing a website from us, you are ultimately paying for our time, and our product to you is not the website itself (while do you get a website from us), our product is our knowledge, skill and time.

A range of variables goes into constructing a website. If the correct information empowers our clients, they will make the right buying decisions.

Elements to consider for your website:
