Highlife Bathrooms 1 - Logo Alt

Highlife Bathrooms is a UK bathroom brand known for combining contemporary design with practical, long-lasting performance. Founded in 2004, they’ve grown steadily by offering a comprehensive product range – from furniture and sanitaryware to heating, mirrors, baths and taps – all supported by a lifetime guarantee. Their focus on quality, thoughtful detailing and trend-aware styling has made them a trusted partner for retailers, merchants and design-led projects across the country.

Their catalogue is central to their business, a showcase of technical detail, craftsmanship and aesthetic choice that helps clients specify the right products for their projects.

The Challenge

Highlife came to us with a clear challenge: their product catalogue existed only in print. It worked beautifully as a brochure,  tactile, precise, and on-brand, but it couldn’t deliver the interactivity, searchability or scalability they needed.

Our brief wasn’t to “put it online”. It was to transform a static asset into a living digital system, one that could handle hundreds of products and variants while preserving the sense of craftsmanship that defines the Highlife brand.

The Approach

We started with the data.

Before a single interface was designed, we focused on structure, consolidating every product, variant and attribute into a single, consistent dataset. Highlife’s original CSV was detailed but disorganised, so we created a refined master template, defining what fields were required, how they related, and which would be managed dynamically within the system. This gave us the foundation for a modular data model — one optimised for speed, accuracy and scale.

Data First

We rebuilt the catalogue data from the ground up, ensuring every attribute, colour, finish, material, and size was clearly defined and reusable.

System Design

Rather than one oversized table, each data type (product, category, attribute) was stored in its own optimised structure. This improved performance and made the system infinitely more flexible.

Logic Simplified

Highlife’s category hierarchy wasn’t linear; products often lived in multiple branches. We re-engineered the logic to allow categories, subcategories and cross-links to coexist cleanly without breaking relationships.

The Build

Once the data model was sound, we turned to the interface, building a system that’s deceptively simple on the surface and technically rigorous underneath.

We developed a custom headless CMS connected to a Next.js front-end via GraphQL. This allows product data to be served dynamically while keeping the experience fast, fluid and responsive.

Highlife Bathrooms 5 Attribute Builder Mobile

The Attribute Builder

To give Highlife full control, we created a bespoke attribute builder. Editors can assign and reuse attributes like colour or finish across multiple products through an intuitive, visual interface; no developer input required.

Every element, from filtering logic to CMS controls, was designed for efficiency and precision.

The Outcome

What began as a printed brochure is now a dynamic, data-driven platform. Highlife can now manage their full product catalogue internally — adding, editing and reorganising products in minutes. Visitors enjoy a seamless browsing experience that feels intuitive, structured and purpose-built, not templated.

Results at a Glance

  • 400+ products structured and searchable
  • Zero developer dependency for updates
  • Instant attribute-based filtering
  • Scalable for future growth

The system doesn’t just look good, it performs beautifully. Fast queries, clean logic, and a CMS built to evolve as the brand expands.

The Reflection

Digital transformation isn’t about replication. It’s about rethinking what something could be.

For Highlife, that meant moving beyond “online catalogue” to create a living digital system, one that reflects the same precision, depth and attention to detail that defines their products.
