Delivery Wizard

Delivery Wizard approached Geek to build a digital platform that simplified international shipping for users. The goal was to create a custom system where customers could enter parcel details – such as size, weight and destination – and instantly receive delivery options from leading couriers. With customer dashboards to view live order statuses and shipment progress and major API integration with UPS and DHL, the result was a smooth, intelligent platform that brought together complex courier systems into one seamless experience.

Delivery Wizard came to us as a start-up with an idea for a business - not yet a name. That’s where we came in.

They wanted to launch an online delivery price comparison platform, and before we could start on the bespoke web application, we needed to build the brand from the ground up. A business without a name can’t make a mark online, so that’s where the work began.

After conversations with the team and a deep dive into what they stood for, the identity took shape: practical, clever, and confident in what it set out to do. And just like that, Delivery Wizard was born.

Branding & Design

With the name in place and the domain secured, we moved on to shaping Delivery Wizard’s visual identity. We presented a range of logo concepts exploring colour, typography, and tone before landing on something that felt just right, a fun, distinctive mark that captured the spirit of the brand. And yes, it came complete with its own mascot (more on him in a moment).

Once the logo was signed off, we developed a full set of brand guidelines to ensure consistency across every touchpoint. Because we’d taken the time to understand Delivery Wizard’s values from the start, the guidelines didn’t just show how the brand should look, they expressed what it stood for.

As a new business with no existing visual presence, Delivery Wizard gave us creative freedom to explore and define what the brand could be. They trusted our direction, and the result was a collaborative process that turned ideas into something memorable.

The brand’s tone was playful and informal, and we wanted that personality to shine through from the outset. So, we designed The Delivery Wizard - the brand’s cheerful, slightly mischievous mascot. Whether he’s surrounded by boxes in a warehouse or wearing a headset ready to help, he gives the brand a face, a voice, and a sense of character.

With the mascot leading the way, the visual style carried seamlessly into the website design, a bright, engaging experience that matched the brand’s energy and made every interaction feel approachable and human.

Development

Once the website design was approved, it was over to our development team to bring Delivery Wizard’s idea to life through complex API integration. Two courier APIs were chosen — DHL and UPS — selected for their accessible documentation and global reach. Together, they enabled Delivery Wizard to provide tailored international delivery options across the UK, Europe, and the USA.

Although DHL and UPS offered similar services, their APIs were built very differently. Each required distinct data inputs and formatting, which meant our developers had to create a flexible, intelligent system capable of communicating with both providers seamlessly. Users simply enter their parcel details — size, weight, and destination — and, within milliseconds, the site returns accurate, real-time delivery options from UPS and DHL to choose from. In this process, the system had to communicate with the courier APIs to ensure DHL and UPS were happy with the data being given to them so they could generate accurate results.

While testing API integration, a test and feedback system was designed within development to retrieve data from each API, not only if an API request was successful or not, but also if it failed and why, if possible, to assist developers and users in identifying mistakes.

Let’s simplify that. Say you want to send a parcel to your Grandma in Seattle. You head to Delivery Wizard and enter your requirements. Once you are happy, you hit search. At this point, the website behind the scenes sends this information to DHL and UPS. The site then generates a list of delivery options which the user can select, which match their specification of length, height, width, weight, etc. And all this happens in the space of milliseconds…

To make the experience more intuitive, we designed and developed a user dashboard that allows customers and businesses to track deliveries, access invoices, and download shipping labels — all from one place. A built-in address book makes repeat deliveries even simpler, enabling users to save and reuse shipping details effortlessly.

The process of sending a parcel — whether across town or internationally — is handled in moments. From comparison and booking to confirmation and tracking, everything happens smoothly through one bespoke web application.

From naming and branding through to advanced system integration, we helped Delivery Wizard establish its full digital identity — designing and developing a platform that’s fast, functional, and built to scale. A complete start-up story, engineered from the ground up.
