project process

the initial stage

After considering their requirements, we provided Dirtbike Database with 3 initial logo concepts. The client particularly liked one of the logos, so we went with it!

Ultimately, a vibrant and memorable logo that suits a range of formats was chosen.

Bicyclette

The name “Bicyclette” was chosen because this typeface is all about balance and elegance. The idea was to create a highly contrasted sans-serif family carefully balanced between gentle curves and sharp angles, with large capitals opposing uncommonly short lower case, through six distinctive weights.

next steps

With their new branding in place, the next stop was an engaging website with a lot of development work. The site front and backend needed to be seamless in both it’s design and functionality.

We built a series of frontend forms allowing users to create records of their vehicles, storing key information to be used if the vehicle is stolen. We also created frontend forms to allow users to report vehicles as stolen, becoming alerts for other users. Particularly, prospective buyers of vehicles are able to check there are no alerts for the given vehicle.

There are also mechanisms in place to allow users to report sightings of potentially stolen bikes. All of this functionality is gated behind a subscription.

Overall, both ourselves and the client feel that we accurately represented their brand in their new online presence. We’re looking forward to seeing what Dirtbike Database do next.
